Dryer Balls. Do they actually work?
Initially, we wondered how this could work. What we discovered is that there is truly a difference.
Dryer Balls haven’t been around for a long time but we decided to do some research to better understand their true value.
First, what problem is our current solution “Fabric Softening Sheets” resolving for us now?
We found that most people agreed with these areas:
- Smell
- Static
- Make close last longer
- Don’t ask (want to fold them, put away cloths, etc… LOL)
More than likely, your existing solution “<insert your brand here>” uses Toxic solutions, perfumes and coatings on a single-use polyester fabric that apply a thin residue onto our cloths and provide “static free” dry cloths.
Common complaints with the existing solutions:
Too much, heavy/strong perfume smell - Allergy concerns
Forget to put the fabric softener sheet into the dryer
Cost - they are expensive for what they do!
Towels have a slippery feel on them when used
They certainly don't HELP the electric Bill!
Now with a clear understanding of the pros/cons with our existing solution let’s investigate the alternative – Wool Dryer Balls.
Alternative Solutions can be made of Wool and include no use of Toxic solutions or perfumes.
There are 6 dryer balls that are re-used in place of a single-use polyester fabric sheet.
What about the nice smell of Fabric Sheets.
Dryer balls typically do not have smell – you would need to add it.
Essentials oils allow you to add the amount of scent you prefer, and the actual scent you prefer.
Wool Dryer balls contain no liquids but will absorb the moisture in the dryer.
Other then possibly some\slight amount essential oils residue there is No residue left on the cloths.
What about the Static!
Several techniques can are used to reduce "static" from your cloths including preventing the cloths from rubbing against each other as these balls tumble throughout your cloths in the dryer.
Separated cloths can then dry faster and save $$$ with faster dry times.
The 6 Dryer Balls can be left in the Dryer as they appear unloading the dried towels into a hamper.

Simple Dryer Ball Maintenance and increase life expectancy:
To refresh and fluff the wool fibers, throw each of the Dryer balls into a sock and tie it up on the end.
Wash them in a hot water cycle and toss them into the dryer, until thoroughly dried and ready to go again.
Doing this will help refresh and recompact the fibers for longer use.
